Somizi, Sharks and something for everyone on DStv this week

14 July is Shark Awareness day. Unfortunately, as frightening and fascinating as we find sharks, humans are more of a threat to them than they are to us (statistically speaking obviously, not in a head-to-head situation). In the week of 10 to 16 July, DStv has a collection of shark viewing ranging from a jaw-dropping line-up of world-class documentaries to a whole lot of horror-indulgent shark-themed movies to ensure the adventurer in all of us is satisfied.

Documentaries include Shark vs. Surfer and World’s Biggest Tiger Shark. Guilty pleasure movies include 5-Headed Shark Attack, Empire of The Sharks and Jersey Shore Shark Attack – be sure to stay tuned to Studio Universal and Nat Geo Wild this week for all the deep-sea action!

Luckily, sharks aren’t the only big catch this week, here are some other highlights on DStv:

Spoorloos: Heksejag (Local Drama): From Tuesday, 14 July on kykNET (DStv Channel 144) at 20:00

Then, baiting you with the delight of mystery, Spoorloos: Heksejag returns with a brand-new season of the captivating drama. The adapted name of the series is complemented with a brand-new cast of new, young actors. It won’t be too hard to fall in love with this thrilling series again though, as it still sees the same sense of adventure that left us asking: “Who was it?” and “Why would this happen?” the last time.

Storm Boy (Adventure): Saturday, 11 July on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) at 15:15

Staying on the coastline, this time of Southern Australia, see Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush star in Storm Boy.
