Francois Van Coke and other artists to pay tribute to Johnny Clegg

Francois Van Coke and other artists are set to pay tribute to Johnny Clegg in a Digital Tribute Concert on 31 July 2020.

Johnny, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 66 in 2019, was in the music business for 40 years.

Going digital

Now, according to reports, a fitting tribute to one of the most iconic figures in South African music history, the Johnny Clegg Tribute Show is going digital, featuring some of South Africa’s top performers as well as some international names online.

Johnny’s son, Jesse also shared the news of the tribute concert on Instagram, saying:

“I am excited to announce this very special tribute event celebrating my dad’s life and music, featuring some incredible artists and dedicated to an important cause.”

About the Johnny Clegg Digital Tribute Concert

The digital tribute concert will feature fellow musicians that will commemorate Johnny Clegg’s life and musical career; such as; Zolane, éVoid, Jesse Clegg, Ard Matthews, Dan Patlansky, Karen Zoid, Sipho Mchunu, Ross Learmonth, Arno Carstens, Soweto Gospel Choir, Shekhinah, Tresor, Majozi, Kahn Morbee, Anna Wolf and Nicholas Petricca of Walk The Moon.
