Epic Store started the year on a good note and will continue the goodwill by giving away one free game this week: Farming Simulator 19. It will be available until 6 February 2020.

Last week’s freebie was The Bridge, a puzzle game that “forces you to reevaluate your preconceptions of physics and perspective”. Read more about it here.

Farming Simulator

Farming Simulator 19 – which was developed by Giants Software and published by Focus Home Interactive back in 2018 – is the ultimate farming simulator.

Becoming a modern farmer and developing your farm on two “huge American and European environments” is now as easy as singing Old MacDonald Had A Farm.

Drive over 300 authentic vehicles and machines now including John Deere – but also Case IH, New Holland, Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Krone, Deutz-Fahr, and many more.

You can grow your farm with other players or downloaded community-created mods for an “ever-expanding” experience. According to Epic Games, the Platinum Edition is “coming soon”.

Joshua Duckworth from Game Rant describes Farming Simulator as “a rewarding game” despite some of the hardships.

“The realism of Farming Simulator 19 – both mechanically as described and graphically – adds to everything the game embodies from the realistic operations to the aesthetic farm scenery. Because of the amount of detail in the graphics and the game mechanics, this can be described as an incredibly hardcore simulator, which comes with a high level of freedom of choice.”

The Bridge

The Bridge – which was developed and published by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild back in 2013 – is a puzzle game that “forces you to reevaluate your preconceptions of physics and perspective”.

“It is Isaac Newton meets M. C. Escher. Manipulate gravity to redefine the ceiling as the floor while venturing through impossible architectures.”

You, the player, will be tasked with exploring increasingly difficult worlds and will have to solve 48 unique thought-provoking puzzles in a “world where the laws of physics are not what they seem”.

The worlds contain impossible architecture set in the style of beautifully hand-drawn black-and-white lithographic art. Once you’ve completed the game, and alternative-ending storyline opens up with 24 additional puzzles.
