Orlando Pirates can claim a fifth win in a row as they visit Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
Josef Zinnbauer’s men ground out a 1-0 win over AmaZulu in their last game and now face a team smarting from a 3-0 defeat to SuperSport United.
Inevitably, Pirates’ recent form has led to talk of their title bid being reignited after a slow start to the season. Zinnbauer has warned against getting carried away heading into the trip to Port Elizabeth.
“No… We look only to the next game, which is the toughest game. We have three more points, which I’m happy about, but we cannot fight for the title at the moment,” said Zinnbauer, as quoted by KickOff.
“We have not too many points for this. When we have a chance, I’ll never say never to fighting for the title [because] that’s what we want.
“But, at the moment, it’s too early to speak about the title or anything. We concentrate only on the next game.”
Chippa have proven tough to break down this season, but SuperSport United found a way through on Friday and Norman Mapeza will be looking to tighten up again.
His team also has work to do at the other end, as they spurned glorious chances to score in their last game. Augustine Kwem in particular will be hoping to rediscover his goalscoring form having missed the target one-on-one with Ronwen Williams.

Prediction: Orlando Pirates are in tremendous form and Chippa were woeful in their last game. The Buccaneers are predicted to claim a comfortable victory.
Bookies have the Bucs at evens to win (50% chance). Pirates usually win only 34% of games at these odds though. Chippa have a 29% chance of victory but often play well as underdogs, winning 39% of fixtures at these odds.
