AmaZulu vs Polokwane City: PSL live scores, kick-off time, prediction and preview

Kings Park Stadium is the home of Sharks Rugby, but on Sunday, it will host a vital football match as AmaZulu face Polokwane City in a bottom-of-the-table six-pointer.

Both teams are level on 17 points heading into the match with only goal difference putting Polokwane ahead of AmaZulu.

Jozef Vukusic will be up against his former club. After finishing fifth in the league with Polokwane City last season, he is struggling to recapture that magic with Usuthu.

Vukusic’s job is reportedly on the line, but the Slovakian mentor remains defiant.

“I don’t spend even one second going into a direction of speaking about rumours and things like that,” Vukusic was quoted as saying by SowetanLIVE.

“We know what we must do and we’re positive that we’ll turn it around. Everything is under control.”

AmaZulu were unlucky in a sense to lose 1-0 to Orlando Pirates despite standing up to the Buccaneers for large periods of the game.

They need to be more clinical if they are to get something out of the showdown with Clinton Larsen’s men this weekend.

Polokwane City went down 1-0 to Stellenbosch in their last game, meaning Rise and Shine head into this fixture on course for a relegation playoff spot.

Kick-off time and prediction

Kick-off time: 2 February, 15:30

Prediction: Home advantage is likely to help AmaZulu and they have had time to adjust to playing at Kings Park. They have often been unlucky this season but are predicted to claim all three points this time.

The bookies favour Usuthu and have given them a 42% chance of victory and their visitors 36%. There is a twist, though, as AmaZulu only win 24% of the time at these odds with Rise and Shine claiming victory in 35% of their fixtures under the circumstances.
