Watch – Siya Kolisi visits Anfield: Here’s what he got up to in Liverpool
Greatness recognises greatness. With the European Champions Liverpool soaring high at the moment, the Anfield-based club welcomed another born-winner to their manor on Wednesday night. South Africa’s Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi got to watch his beloved Reds live, and had a whale of a time.
Kolisi was in attendance for Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Napoli in the Champions League. Although his presence couldn’t quite carry the Scousers over the line, he was given a red-hot reception by everyone at the club. His star power doesn’t just shine through Mzansi, you know…

Took over Liverpool’s Twitter account
This is proper class. We had to double take when we saw this late last night. Our guy has just ended up calling the shots on the @LFC timeline. No biggie… Kolisi introduced himself to the reds faithful, and his message picked up 17 000 likes. So he’s found another city he’s hugely popular in.

Had a quick blast at punditry
The folks at LFCTV handed Siya Kolisi a jacket – and a microphone – as club legend Jason McAteer welcomed him to the channel. He looks the part, doesn’t he?
Can’t believe the coat fits. Absolute pleasure to meet Siya Kolisi such gentleman and inspiration. #SouthAfrica #RugbyWorldCup https://t.co/u7Vz4sxhlA pic.twitter.com/2ed3mfn3eO

Siya Kolisi shared the love with Jurgen Klopp
Kolisi was highly sought-after by the British media this week, as they got their chance to ask him about that famous victory in Japan – and probe the “special relationship” he and Jurgen Klopp seem to share. The Liverpool manager had previously visited the captain in SA just a few weeks ago. Siya told Sky Sports News that he “fell off his chair” when his hero walked in the room:
“He is such an amazing human being and I understand why the boys play so hard for him. He came and greeted every single person at the table and spoke to me for over 40 minutes. When I saw him I fell off my chair!”

Went on Sky News to talk about inspiring the next generation
Siya Kolisi is spreading the good word. He popped over to the other Sky News studio to talk about his personal journey, and he told millions of viewers that “every black child can achieve something great”:
'It's important for every black kid to know they can do this.'@Springboks captain Siya Kolisi says 'every child now has someone to look up to' after he became South Africa's first black captain to lift the William Webb Ellis trophy.
