Watch live: Springboks Victory Parade comes to Cape Town
The Springboks Victory Parade comes to its final leg in Cape Town on Monday morning, where the Rugby World Cup winners will be welcomed to parliament with the Webb Ellis trophy in tow.
After parading through the jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria, downtown Johannesburg, Soweto and Durban, the Springboks completed their tour of the Eastern Cape this weekend. Captain Siya Kolisi and his team received an emotional welcome in East London and Port Elizabeth, the latter being a pivotal stop on the Victory Parade’s schedule as Kolisi had an opportunity to return to his hometown of Zwide.

Now it’s time for the Mother City to get a piece of the action, serving as the Springboks’ final celebratory destination. First on the itinerary is a visit to parliament, where Kolisi, along with coach Rassie Erasmus and the rest of the World Cup winners, will be invited into the halls of the National Assembly.
Members of the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) are due to welcome the Springboks to the precinct. On Monday morning, politicians draped in Springbok regalia could be seen milling about parliament. One party, however, is likely to give the Springboks the cold shoulder; the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) who have dismissed the World Cup win and subsequent fanfare have been condemned for their divisive comments regarding the national rugby team.

The squad, which will be undoubtedly perched atop of the branded bus, as seen in other cities, will then weave its way through the inner city streets; travelling through Adderley, Wale, Long, Buitensingel, Loop and Strand street. It's a vibe only the @Springboks can create…we waiting @catolouw @BreytonPaulse pic.twitter.com/ucJ9gjNNsQ— claude (@clauder42) November 11, 2019
