Black Friday has arrived and with it so too has the annual shopping rush, typified by bargain hunters breaking through barriers to snatch best deal possible.

As was to be expected, video footage of the maddening Black Friday dash has already made its way onto social media. Stores across the country, which have been preparing for this climax of commercialism, have been flooded by shoppers in their thousands.

Trolleys and bodies can be seen bursting through doors, weaving in and out of aisles, with collisions galore. As supermarket security guards, cashiers and floor staff attempt to corral the crazed consumers – and avoid stampede-related casualties – bargains fly off the shelves, with little regard for diplomacy.
