Zodwa’s Botswana fans on the other hand have not been so kind.

Zodwa apologised to her fans, posting on Instagram: “I’m so sorry Botswana. Zodwa Wabantu is sick”.

However, according to the Botswana Gazette, Zodwa dodged a bullet by not coming to the country as rumours that she would be arrested and deported began to surface.

The source told the publication: “An instruction from a high-profile office was issued to BPS [Bostwana Police Services] o arrest and lay charges against the controversial entertainer”.

The source added that police were instructed to use Section 167 and 176 of the penal code as grounds for arrest, which refer to public indecency and common nuisance respectively.

However a police spokesperson claimed he was not constrained to speak on a matter that did not occur.
