RIP | Former Kaizer Chiefs star Lucky Maselesele passes away aged 41
Former Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Black Leopards star attacker Lucky Maselele has passed away at the age of 41.

Details around Maselesele’s sudden passing are still sketchy.
Maselesele made a name for himself at Chiefs soon after making his topflight debut in 1998 – he would go onto become on of the club’s exciting attackers.

Born in Alexandra, Maselesele was a journeyman during his playing days as he featured for no less than 10 professional clubs.
Between his spells with Chiefs in 1998 and 2003, Maselesele played for the now-defunct Manning Rangers.

He would go on to play for the likes of Thanda Royal Zulu, Maritzburg United, Black Leopards and FC AK among other teams.
In 2006, Maselesele got his biggest football break as he completed a move to Turkish outfit Yenicami Agdelen where he played for a season before returning home.

Two years later, Maselesele was banned from playing professional football for two years after testing positive for cocaine.
He quit the game permanently in 2011 following a spell with Namibian side Civics FC whom he joined in 2010.
