Mokwena served as an assistant to Mosimane for years before moving to Pirates to work with Sredojevic, and it was at the time when a section of fans felt he was ready to be a head coach.
And Mokwena said his role at Pirates was similar to the one he played at Sundowns although he admitted there was pressure due to the fact Sredojevic was different to Mosimane.

Mokwena further revealed that he had to do a lot more of the demanding and putting pressure on Pirates players to do more on the pitch – something he did with ease whilst under Mosimane’s wing at Sundowns.
“When I moved to Pirates, the role was a lot similar but with a little more pressure because we had a different coach Milutin Sredojevic who came in and was someone that works very hard, but also as good with relations with the players,” said Mokwena on the Coaches Corner as per iDiskiTimes.

“When I was at Pirates with Milutin, I ended up having to do a little more of the demanding and putting a lot more pressure on the players.
“And I tried to be the coach that I felt that the head coach needed, and that’s always my take even now as a coach my beliefs is try to be the coach that you feel the team needs,” he added.
