Severe Weather Alerts

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

  1. Yellow Level 2 warning for INTERIOR WINDS is expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, and the western parts of the Free State and North West Provinces.

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northeastern parts of the Northern Cape, the western parts of the Free
    State as well as the north-western interior of the Eastern Cape.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the south.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm, but hot over the Lowveld. Isolated afternoon thundershowers are expected in the extreme south.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the south-west and south.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north-eastern parts.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered on the border of Lesotho.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Cold in the west, otherwise fine and cool to warm but partly cloudy in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly to north-westerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Fine in the north-east, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain in west but scattered along the south-west coast.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong northerly to northwesterly, becoming westerly to south-westerly by the evening.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half Temperature: Fine and warm but partly cloudy along the coast.

The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

The Eastern half Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm, but cool along the coast. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, but scattered east of Mthatha.

The Eastern half Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot. It will become cloudy with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly becoming south-westerly along the south coast the afternoon and spreading northwards.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
