Severe Weather Alerts

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

  1. Yellow Level 2 warning for DISRUPTIVE RAIN leading to localized flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements and difficult driving conditions is expected over the extreme eastern parts of the Eastern Cape and the southern and central parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

  1. Nil.

ADVISORIES:

  1. Light snowfalls are expected over the southern Drakensberg from Monday night into Tuesday morning

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the north at first, otherwise fine and warm becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon with isolated thundershowers in the south.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Hot in the Lowveld where it will be fine, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and the eastern parts where it will be windy.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and the northern parts but scattered in the east.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the extreme east, otherwise fine and cold to cool.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers in the southwestern and the southern parts.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly in the south, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half Temperature: Very cold in places in the north, otherwise cloudy and cold with isolated showers and rain, but scattered in the east

The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming south-easterly by the evening.

The Eastern half Temperature: Very cold in places, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the east where disruptive rainfall is expected.

The Eastern half Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming south easterly by the evening.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool but cold in places over the southern interior. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected, but widespread in the south where disruptive rainfall is expected.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
