Khayelitsha: Manhunt launched after three women were shot in the head
The police in the Western Cape is on the hunt for an unknown number of suspects who allegedly shot and killed three young women in Khayelitsha on Monday night, 27 September. The women were found by residents who heard the gunshots and all three of them had bullet wounds to the head.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said the provincial police have put a 72-hour activation plan in place in order to mobilise the resources necessary to hunt down the suspects responsible for killing the young women in Khayelitsha on Monday.
“Reports from the scene indicate that residents at the TT Block informal settlement recall hearing gunshots after 20:00,” said Potelwa.
A few minutes later residents discovered the bodies of the three young women, who were aged 17, 20 and 21, according to the police. Their bodies were found in a passage between the shacks in TT Block informal settlement with gunshot wounds in their heads.
“The victims had all been shot in their heads,” said the police spokesperson. “As investigations into the murders continue, the motive for the shooting incident is yet to be determined.”
