First look: ‘Bridgerton’ season two teaser introduces Kate Sharma [watch]
Netflix released the first look at the second season of the much anticipated series Bridgerton via their virtual fan event TUDUM on Saturday 25 September.
SEASON TWO FOCUSES ON ANTHONY BRIDGERTON’S LOVE LIFE
After the release of the first season, Bridgerton quickly became the most watched Netflix Original in the history of Netflix. Bridgerton season two will premiere in 2022.
The first season of Bridgerton focused on the relationship between Daphne Bridgerton played by Phoebe Dynevor and the beloved Duke of Hastings Simon Bassett, played by Regé-Jean Page. The second season shifts focus to Daphne’s elder brother Anthony Bridgerton and his quest for love. Season two is based on Julia Quinn’s novel The Viscount Who Loved Me.
Sex Education’s Simone Ashley is set to play Anthony Bridgerton’s love interest Kate Sharma.
“Kate is equal parts headstrong and whip-smart. Her sharp wit and independent nature make her a singular force on the 1814 marriage mart, where she hopes to secure a love match for her younger sister, Edwina,” according to Netflix.

THE SHARMA FAMILY JOINS THE ‘TON’
The Sharma family also includes Edwina Sharma played by Charithra Chandran, the younger sister of Kate Sharma.
“Edwina has been taught by her older sister to be the perfect debutante. She’s kind-natured and endlessly endearing. But while she may be young and naive, she also knows what she wants: a true love match,” according to Netflix.
The young ladies join the “ton” with their mom, Lady Mary Sharma played by Shelly Conn.
“Mary Sharma was the daughter of an Earl, but gave up her title to run away with her true love – a merchant. The scandal that quickly ensued has made Mary somewhat of an outsider upon her return to London society for the debut of her daughters,” according to Netflix.

Bridgerton Season 2, from Shondaland, coming in 2022, only on Netflix,” according to Netflix.
