Cristiano Ronaldo equals UEFA Champions League record with Man United
Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled the record for the all-time number of appearances made by a player in the UEFA Champions League.

On Tuesday, Ronaldo started against Young Boys to take his Champions League appearance tally to 177; the record previously held by former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
And while Ronaldo was on the losing side as Man United were beaten 2-1 by Young Boys, he would be pleased to have capped off his record-equalling night with a goal.

He opened the scoring with a sublime finish in the 13th-minute of the game following a cross from Bruno Fernandes.
This was Ronaldo’s 135th goal in the competition – a record-extending strike as he remains the all-time goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.

Among other UEFA Champions League records he holds, Ronaldo remains the only player to win five gold medals in the competition.
