Percy Tau HITS BACK at criticism following Al Ahly move!
Percy Tau offered a rather blunt explanation regarding his move from English Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion to Egyptian outfit Al Ahly.
Percy Tau has been subjected to much criticism following what many South Africans felt was a ‘step-backwards’ but the former Mamelodi Sundowns star has hit-back at his critics.
Tau was undeniably struggling to break into Graham Potter’s side however many including the likes of Benni McCarthy and Junior Khanye however the Bafana Bafana star has since set the record straight!
Percy Tau hits back at criticism aimed at him
“What is the point of me sitting on the bench when I am not playing? I want to see myself playing and my family wants to play. People will always have opinions, this is a big country.” Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau told members of the media.

“I have moved around before. I went from Witbank Spurs when I was 17 to the Sundowns academy. I went back to Witbank Spurs on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. When I got to Brighton (in 2018) there was uncertainty, I went to Union St Gilloise, in Belgium.” – Percy Tau continued.
“I went to Bruges. It is part of my career to move around. Some feel if I stayed here at Brighton. I would have been okay, but you don’t know what I am going through here. I was going through something where I felt it was better to move.”
Percy Tau was recently announced as the Bafana Bafana vice-captain by coach Hugo Broos ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Ghana and Zimbabwe. SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams will captain the side.
