Al Ahly were held to a goalless draw by El-Gaish on Tuesday which put their league title hopes in jeopardy and gifted bitter rivals Zamalek a golden opportunity to win their 13th league title.
Pitso Mosimane‘s men in all likelihood need to win all three of their remaining matches – and in addition will need Zamalek to drop points from their next possible nine – in order to stand any chance of defending their title.
