ADVISORIES:
- Series of cold fronts are expected to bring in very cold conditions, with daytime temperatures below 10C over the high lying areas of the western, central and south-eastern parts of the country, spreading eastwards from Tuesday (20/07/2021) through to Friday (23/07/2021). The public as well as small stock farmers are advised to take necessary precautions
Gauteng:
Temperature: Cool in the north, otherwise fine and cold
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very high.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Fine and cold to cool but partly cloudy in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise fine and cool to cold but partly cloudy in the extreme north and east.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and cool.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine and cool, but cold in the east.
Northern Cape:
East temperature: Morning frost in the southern high-ground, otherwise fine and cold to cool but warm in the south-west. It will become partly cloudy in the west and south-west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly to northerly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Fine with frost in the east and the north at first otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to cold with morning fog patches in Eplaces in the south-western and the south-eastern coast but light rain in the south-west parts from the afternoon, spreading to the south-coast by the evening.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly in the west, becoming fresh to strong from the afternoon, otherwise fresh to strong westerly to north-westerly becoming south-westerly towards the evening.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming cloudy along the coast and adjacent interior in the evening.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly to westerly.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the south-west in the evening.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly to westerly.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the north-east at first, otherwise fine and cool.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light westerly to south-westerly north of Richards Bay at first, otherwise moderate north-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
