Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow level 2 warning for RAIN resulting in localized flooding is expected over the City of Cape Town and
western parts of Cape Winelands. - Yellow level 2 warning for WIND leading to difficulty in navigation at sea is expected offshore between Alexander Bay and Cape Columbine
- Yellow Level 2 Warning for WAVES resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Alexander Bay and Lamberts Bay on Tuesday evening.
- Yellow level 4 warning for WIND resulting in localized problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes are expected over the northern parts of West Coast and central Karoo in the Western Cape, and Namakwa District in the Northern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over Sarah Baartman DM, Chris Hani DM, Joe Gqabi DM, Amathole DM and Buffalo City Metro of the Eastern Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Fine and cool, but warm in the north.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm but hot to very hot in places in the Lowveld..
Limpopo:
Temperature: Fine and warm but hot in the Lowveld.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine and warm but partly cloudy and cold to cool with rain in the south by the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly north of Hondeklip Bay at first, otherwise strong to near gale moderating by the afternoon, but fresh to strong south-easterly in the south by the evening.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool to cold with wide spread showers and rain over the south-west but scattered over the western interior. Isolated showers is expected along the west coast and eastern interior.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly but south-easterly along the west coast, becoming fresh to strong north-westerly along the west coast and strong easterly along the south coast from afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Cloudy along the coast with light rain and showers in the morning, otherwise fine and cool, becoming cloudy over the interior in the evening, with light rain and showers in places.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly early morning, otherwise light to moderate westerly, becoming light easterly in the afternoon, freshening in the evening.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Fine and cool, becoming cloudy in the evening.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate westerly, becoming light easterly in the afternoon and moderate north-easterly in the evening.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Fine and cool but warm in the north. It will become partly cloudy in the east from late morning
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly north of St Lucia at first, otherwise southerly to southwesterly, becoming gentle to moderate easterly to north-easterly in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
