Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain leading to localized flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads and minor vehicle accidents due to bad driving conditions is expected over the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the extreme eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
- Orange level 5 warning for snow is expected over in places over the southern Drakensberg mountains resulting in loss of livestock, traffic disruptions and major passes closed.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and cold.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to very cold with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east where it will be cool.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool, becoming cloudy in the south in the afternoon.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine in the northern parts at first, otherwise cloudy and cold, becoming partly cloudy in places with isolated showers and thundershowers in the eastern and the south-eastern parts.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine and cold to cool, but cloudy in the south, spreading to the east by the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming fresh by the afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Morning fog patches over the interior otherwise fine and cool, it will become cloudy along the south coast by evening with light rain in the east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate west to south-westerly along the south coast otherwise light to moderate south-easterly, becoming fresh in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Partly cloudy in places, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior, spreading northwards from the evening.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south westerly, reaching strong in places in the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Cool in places, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers and rain, but widespread in the east. Snowfalls are expected over the north eastern high ground where it will be very cold.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south westerly, but fresh to strong south easterly in places.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool but cold in the west with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south except in the extreme north.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
