‘Lucifer’ is back! The devil addresses his ‘daddy issues’
Season five part two of the popularly devilish mystery Lucifer was released on Netflix on 28 May and it seems the devil is finally confronting his issues.
Part one of season five was released in August last year while part two recently premiered on the streaming platform. Here is the trailer for a quick catch-up up before we dive into the details.
LUCIFER ADDRESSES HIS ‘DADDY ISSUES’
In the first episode of season five, titled “Family Dinner”, a heated conversation at the dinner table turned into a love game. Lucifer, played by Tom Ellis, initially did not want to attend. However, his case with detective Chloe Decker, played by Lauren German, helped change his mind.
The three sons ended up unintentionally showing how much they wanted their father’s love. Eventually they ask their father, played by Dennis Haysbert, if he loved them.
“If I have to tell you, then I really have failed,” he replied.
Lucifer then realises he has to confront his issues with his father in order to move forward in life.
DID CHLOE DIE?
Towards the end of the season, Lucifer and his brother Michael are ready to fight to the bitter end for God’s throne at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Chloe, Maze and Amenadiel join Lucifer while Michael gathers an army. Chloe gets caught in the crossfire and a little while later we see Lucifer fly up to heaven to save her — although he knows that he has been banished and will die if he even tries to go to heaven.
Meanwhile, Chloe is seen having a peaceful picnic in heaven with her dad before Lucifer tries to rescue her, saying it is not yet her time. Chloe agrees to return to Earth…but only one of them can return.
So, who wins the Celestial War For God’s Throne?
