KAIZER CHIEFS WORST EVER PSL SEASON
This is AmaKhosi’s worst-ever season in the PSL. Hunt’s former side managed only six wins in the entire 2020/21 DStv Premiership season.
Chiefs are closer to the relegation zone than they are to challenging for the title. They sit 11th in the current standings.
An astonishing 30 points behind champions Sundowns and just 8 points above Black Leopards.

AmaKhosi fans believed that they would contest for the title after the same side came so close last season, losing out to the title in the second half of the final day. Given the name that accompanies this massive club, anything less than a top-three finish would not please management.
Hunt will be equally shocked by this year’s poor campaign.
The 56-year-old is one of the most successful coaches in the PSL era with four trophies to his name.
He can only focus on the future now.
WHERE WILL HUNT GO NEXT?
Hunt is not one to remain inactive or too long. In his 26-year coaching career, he has never taken a long break.
The former Chiefs coach will certainly feel like he has a point to prove after a season that marks a blemish on an otherwise illustrious coaching career. The DStv Premiership is known for the frequent changing of coaches. Hunt is one of the most decorated coaches in the PSL era.
Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United could both be sacking their coaches soon.
ORLANDO PIRATES
Josef Zinnbauer is under huge pressure with many calling for him to be sacked. Hunt could potentially join his former side’s biggest rivals.
This would allow him to work towards ultimate redemption. Striving to beat Chiefs in the biggest derby in South African football. He will still have big targets to reach where he could establish himself as an all-time great.
Putting his poor league run with the Amakhosi behind him.

SUPERSPORT UNITED
SuperSport United is the side that Hunt made a name for himself with.
The former coach of SuperSport United coached the Centurion-based side to three successive PSL Titles.
Their current coach, Kaitano Tambo, is under huge pressure after his side’s recent dip in form. They dropped from title contenders to losing out on a place in Africa.
This presents Hunt with a perfect chance at returning to his glory days, where it all began.

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
For Hunt and the Soweto giants. Hunt will go down in history as the coach that led Chiefs to their first-ever semi-final in CAF Champions League history.
For the Soweto giants, a chance at redemption and history beckons. They have a chance to win the CAF Champions League for the first time in their history.
This would bring glory to Amakhosi fans that is so great they could put their terrible league run behind them.
