Kaizer Chiefs v Simba SC result: Amakhosi triumph on their greatest night ever

Kaizer Chiefs took a giant step towards their first ever CAF Champions League semi-final with a comprehensive thrashing of Simba SC in the first-leg of their quarter-final at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 15 May.

Defender Erick Mathoho scored the opening goal for Amakhosi in the sixth minute and Gavin Hunt’s men doubled their lead thanks to a 34th-minute goal by Samir Nurkovic.

Amakhosi took a 2-0 lead into the half-time break, but quickly added a third when Nurkovic scored his second of the match in the 57th-minute.

Leonardo Castro then made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute in what turned out to be the final score on what was without question one of the greatest night’s in Kaizer Chiefs’ 50-year history.

Barring a miracle of epic proportions in the second-leg in Dar es Salaam next Saturday, the Glamour Boys will move into the semi-finals
