See the Queen and Prince Philip with seven of their great-grandchildren in new snap [photo]
The Royal Family has released new photographs of Prince Philip and the Queen following the Duke of Edinburgh’s death at the age of 99.
The Queen, Prince Philip with their great-grandchildren
According to SkyNews, the photos include an image taken by the Duchess of Cambridge of the Queen and Prince Philip surrounded by seven of their great-grandchildren at Balmoral Castle in 2018.
The never-seen-before snaps shows Prince Louis in the arms of the Queen, which is said to be a rare image of the monarch holding one of her 10 great-grandchildren. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s other children Prince George and Princess Charlotte are on either side of the monarch.
Peter Phillips’ daughters, Savannah and Isla, are close to their great-grandfather and at the other end of the sofa are Zara and Mike Tindall’s children Lena – held by her cousin Isla – and Mia.
A message from Prince WIlliam
In another photo, posted on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Twitter account, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are seen with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Philip, and the Queen at Balmoral in 2015.
The photo was shared by the royal couple after Prince William wrote a touching tribute to his grandfather, Prince Philip, whose funeral is set to take place on 17 April 2021.
“I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humour,” Prince William wrote.
Remembering The Duke of Edinburgh
Meanwhile, a new image from the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s official Twitter account, shows Prince Philip and a young Charles on horseback playing polo. Prince Charles also has paid tribute to his father in a heartwarming video shared on the royal family’s social media accounts.
“My family and I miss my father enormously – he was a much-loved and appreciated figure, and apart from anything else, I can imagine he’d be so deeply touched by the number of other people here and elsewhere around the world in the Commonwealth who also, I think, share our loss and our sorrow,” the Prince said.
