PSL Transfer rumours: Midfielder set for shock Kaizer Chiefs return

The PSL transfer rumour mill has fired up once again and included in the latest gossip a former Kaizer Chiefs man could return to Naturena.

Buchanan set for Kaizer Chiefs return

Midfield free agent Keagan Buchanan may go back to his former side, Kaizer Chiefs next season after parting ways with Maritzburg United earlier this year.

An anonymous source has told the Citizen that Buchanan has refused a few offers as he awaits his manager who is speaking to Chiefs about a possible return.

“He was a little inexperienced at the time and the three years he has spent at Maritzburg have taught him a lot. He feels like he is ready again for a big team move, and is hoping to go back to Naturena as he feels he has unfinished business over there,” said the source.

Mahlambi’s future in the balance

The future of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Phakamani Mahlambi reportedly hangs in the balance.

Mahlambi had been sent out on loan to AmaZulu this season, with the hope that he would get regular game-time but that has not materialised and has impacted his hopes of breaking into the Sundowns XI.

Mahlambi, like all the other players who are out on loan, will return to Chloorkop for pre-season before a decision will be made on whether or not he stays with the club.

No signings yet for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt says that the club has made no signings as yet and all players in the squad still have a chance to stay at Naturena next term.

“We haven’t signed a player – nothing. You’ve got to look at it from that perspective. With the squad we’ve got‚ to try and go on this front is a big achievement so far‚ and we’ve over-achieved,” Hunt said.

Black Leopards player wants out

According to reports, one of the three players suspended by Black Leopards for participating in an Easter amateur tournament has asked to be released by the club.

Nkosinathi Ononogbu, Lifa Hlongwane and Tebogo Makobela were suspended by Leopards until the end of the season for their misdemeanour which was a serious breach of the COVID-19 protocols the PSL has in place.

“They just feel that the club is stringing them along so it can put a big price tag on them if teams come for them at the end of the season. The club is hanging by a thread and relegation has become a serious probability and now they know they will have to release or sell half of their squad to make some money and also cut on expenses should they be relegated.

“This one player was already rumoured to have suitors and now he wants to open the window for them by becoming a free agent,” said a source.
