True to form, the Gqeberha-based club have had three different bosses at the helm this season and the trend is something that Mngqithi feels is ‘counterproductive’.

“Even the Bible tells us to forgive those who have harmed us, because at times they don’t know what they are doing, Many decisions that are taken by club bosses, more especially in firing of coaches, are usually counterproductive to their clubs.

“Statistics are saying teams that are chasing coaches a lot, are usually not the most successful. Those who are successful are the ones that understand the value of continuity in sport.

“The development dynamics of the team requires time. I will give you example with Ruud Krol at Orlando Pirates, he started winning trophies in his third season and as soon as he won the treble, they chased him away, got a new coach and won another treble because it was continuity within the squad.

“When we won MTN8 with Golden Arrows, it was my third year and that tells you a lot of development team dynamics,” Manqoba Mngqithi concluded.
