Kevin Anderson digs deep to win in Estoril Open Round 1

South Africa’s Kevin Anderson produced a stunning comeback to beat American Francis Tiafoe in the first round of the Estoril Open.

Kevin Anderson came back from a set down to triumph 4-6, 7-6 (8/6), 7-6 (7/4) in two hours and 48 minutes.

The 34-year-old, ranked 105th in the world heading into the clay tournament, will face Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the last 16.

Meanwhile, Lloyd Harris, South Africa’s top-ranked ATP Tour player at 53rd, will open his tournament against Italian Marco Cecchinato on Tuesday, 27 April.
