Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have secured a massive guaranteed payout after qualifying for the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.
The combined payout between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns currently sits at R19 Million and could skyrocket should they continue to impress on the continent.
Kaizer Chiefs booked their spot in the last eight following a dramatic performance in Conakry last night which saw them tip Guinea’s Horoya AC to the knockout stages.

In contrary fashion to their rivals Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns eased their way into the last eight thanks to a blistering start to the group stages which saw the Brazilians top group B comfortably.
The two South African giants will be handsomely rewarded following their exploits in the CAF Champions League but there’s more.
Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns to bag a minimum of R9.5 Million each
After having secured their places in the CAF Champions League last eight, both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will receive a minimum payout of R9.5 million from CAF as prize money.
There’s even more good news for the two clubs with former Masandawana boss and now CAF president Patrice Mostepe set to increase the CAF Champions Leagues’ prize money!
“We will contribute to improving the efficiency‚ administration and organisation of Caf’s competitions as well as the professionalism and productivity of its staff and will also put in place medical best practices particularly in the context of Covid-19.” – Patrice Motsepe’s 10 point manifesto read.
“It is also important to significantly increase the prize money of the Caf Africa Cup of Nations and of the top Pan African club competitions.”

Should either Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns go on to win this season’s CAF Champions League, a mammoth R37 million payout awaits.
