Mamelodi Sundowns have lost their final group CAF Champions League match against CR Belouizdad at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

The Brazilians had already secured top spot in the group heading into the match so the defeat won’t affect their quarter-final spot.
However, no team likes to lose any match in any competition – let alone the high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns outfit.

Mamelodi Sundowns are in fact unbeaten in their last 27 matches in all competitions, not having tasted defeat since October 2020.
The Algerian side took the lead in the 29th minute through Amir Sayoud after which Ahmed Gasmi doubled their lead in the 45th minute to give the Mamelodi Sundowns’ visitors a 2-0 lead at half-time.
There was no scoring in the second half.
With their win CR Belouizdad secured the runner-up spot in Group B and also progressed to the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, TP Mazembe beat Al-Hilal 2-1 to finish third in the group.
