Healthy chocolate barks – Addictive wholesome treat

Healthy chocolate barks are super easy to make. If it is your first time making candy, this is the perfect recipe for you to start with. You basically add some tasty ingredients to melted chocolate, spread it on a baking tray, place it in the fridge to set, and you have a treat fit for a king!

So when your sweet tooth starts pestering you again and you don’t want to consume too many calories, this health chocolate barks recipe will save the day. Each serving contains only 175 calories so this treat will not jeapordise your diet. And don’t forget to make sure the dark chocolate you use have a very high content of cacao. This will ensure this treat is antioxidant-rich.

    Ingredients

    • 100 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids)

    • 100 g white chocolate

    • 2 teaspoons coconut oil

    • 50 g almonds

    • 50 g sultanas

    • 50 g dried cranberries

    Method

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Microwave the dark chocolate and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for 30 – 60 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds until melted.
    • Mix in half of the nuts and dried fruit, and pour into the prepared baking sheet.
    • Microwave the white chocolate and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for 30 – 60 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds until melted.
    • Drizzle the white chocolate over the dark chocolate and using a toothpick, make swirling patterns.
    • Scatter the rest of the nuts and dried fruit over the chocolate bark, and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
    • Once cooled, break into approximately 10 ‘shards’ and enjoy!
