EXCLUSIVE: A fifth Kaizer Chiefs player ruled out of Orlando Pirates clash

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has already confirmed that he will be without four of his star players for Sunday’s clash against Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium.

Lebogang Manyama, Itumeleng Khune, Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro are the quartet certain to miss the encounter due to various reasons.

Manyama is suspended, Billiat and Castro are out injured while Khune is currently undergoing Covid-19 protocols following his return from the North West province where he was burying his sister Mapula.

However, TheSouthAfrican.com can confirm that those aren’t the only players who will either watch the Soweto derby from the stands or on Television.

According to information gathered by this publication, Dumisani Zuma is another player who will miss this 100th Soweto derby.

Zuma has been in and out of the Amakhosi team this season, and that’s because the medical team has requested that he be given enough time to heal.

The diminutive attacking midfielder has been struggling to shake off a groin injury in recent months as he aggravates it every time he comes back into the team.

And the reason to sometimes play him is that Hunt often finds himself short of options for crucial matches – but the medical team has advised that Zuma’s injury should be managed properly.

Zuma has only managed 11 appearances across all competitions thus far without finding the back of the net.

However, he has directly had a hand in two of the 18 league goals that Chiefs have scored this season.

Overall, Zuma has three assists to his name after setting up Castro in that forgettable 2-1 loss to Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup Last 32.
