‘Kaizer Chiefs WILL beat Horoya in CAF Champions League IF …’

Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro has warned his teammates to double their efforts if they are to get a positive result against CAF Champions League opponents Horoya AC on Tuesday night.

Castro, who is an experienced CAF Champions League campaigner, expects Horoya to give Chiefs a good run for their money but he feels Amakhosi will win the match if they score first.

However, Castro admitted Chiefs will have to minimize mistakes, especially in defence where they have been struggling.

“We need to work hard if we want to get the result,” said Castro as quoted by Daily Sun.

“It won’t be an easy game. We need to be clever and play with responsibility. We also have to minimize mistakes, if we score first then we will get the three points,” he said.

The lanky marksman understands the importance of winning their home games, saying it’s always tough facing teams in this competitions away from home.

“It’s important to start well and make our home games count. It will make things easy when we go away, we know how tough it is away,” added Castro.

“Caf is different from the league because you come against teams with different structure and obviously, we all know how the North Africans are. They are big, strong and tall,” he continued.

Furthermore, Castro said he has friends who have played Horoya before, and they warned him about taking full advantage of home ground advantage.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how we can deal with them during this competition. I have friends who have played against our opponents (Horoya). They have told me to ensure we make it count at home because they will make it tough for us away from home.”

Tuesday’s match between Kaizer Chiefs and Horoya at FNB Stadium is scheduled for 18:00 SA time.
