Hunt tells misifiring Kaizer Chiefs striker Kambole: ‘You’ve got to do better’
Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has warned striker Lazarous Kambole to do better if he is to feature regularly in the remaining matches of the season.
The Zambia international has been struggling for game time since the arrival of Hunt as he’s just managed four starts to date.

Kambole was introduced with 10 minutes to go in Amakhosi’s goalless draw at home against Horoya AC in the CAF Champions League on Tuesday.
And Hunt admits Kambole didn’t give enough, just like he hasn’t seen enough of him at the training grounds.
“On Lazarous, for me, you’ve got to do better. I don’t see enough at training, comes on [on Tuesday], he’s got to do better,” Hunt told the media.

Hunt further revealed he wanted to hand Kambole his fifth start against Horoya but admitted the combination of Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic is giving Chiefs venom upfront.
While Hunt understands his options are limited upfront with only Castro and Nurkovic as his best strikers, there’s still room for Kambole although the speedy marksman must do ‘a little bit more without the ball’.
“I wanted to start him but I think with the two guys [Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic] – they work well together and played a lot together last year,” he said.

“So, I think in that position, we know we are obviously short but he’s got to work harder and do a little bit more without the ball as well,” he explained.
Hunt said he had nothing against Kambole but all he expects from him is hard work, saying as a foreign player, the marksman should offer Chiefs something better than what they currently have.
“Sometimes you come from a different country with a different mentality and he’s got to work harder here. I like him, there’s no problem with him, but we need a little bit more [from him] as a foreign player. I always emphasise that,” added Hunt.
