TS Galaxy set to unveil new coach – and we think we know who it will be

TS Galaxy are set to unveil former Bafana Bafana and Highlands Park mentor Owen Da Gama as their new head coach later on Monday.

The Rockets have struggled this DStv Premiership season after purchasing the top-flight status of Highlands Park last season.

Their most recent setback came on Saturday when they lost 3-0 at home against SuperSport United.

TS GALAXY ARE 13TH IN THE LATEST STANDINGS

TS Galaxy currently occupy 13th place in the standings with just eight points after 10 matches.

They have won a single match, drawn five and lost four fixtures to date.

TS Galaxy fired Dan Malesela this season before appointing Zipho Dlangalala as caretaker coach prior to Christmas last year.

According to a source close to TS Galaxy, the management team have approached Da Gama with the view to take over the coaching reins.

“The club is set to meet this morning to discuss many things including the issue of the coach,” the source told the KickOff website.

“Owen Da Gama has already been earmarked for the coaching position at the club.”

PREVIOUSLY COACHED ORLANDO PIRATES

Da Gama, 59, has also enjoyed stints at the helm of Platinum Stars, Free State Stars and Orlando Pirates, among others.

TS Galaxy will next be in action on Saturday, 16 January against Chippa United.

Kick-off at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit is at 15:30.
