Thanks to his second half goal in their 2-2 draw against Chippa United on Wednesday, Grobler’s tally currently stands at 56 since joining the club in January 2013.
The Bafana Bafana striker is now only ONE goal behind the late Abram ‘Fire’ Raselemane.
Raselemane holds the current record after scoring 57 goals in just 135 appearances during his time with the club from 2001 until 2006 when he left to join Bidvest Wits.
Sadly, the former Bafana Bafana striker died in 2008 from an apparent suicide at the age of 30.
Raselemane played 15 matches for Bafana Bafana.
GROBLER WILL HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AGAINST TS GALAXY
It has taken 32-year-old Bradley Grobler just under 200 matches across all competitions to reach his tally.
SuperSport United stayed third in the standings after the stalemate, five points behind joint log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Swallows FC.
Matsatsantsa have however played one fewer match than both their rivals ahead of them.
SUPERSPORT UNITED NEXT PLAY ON SATURDAY
Grobler, who boasts 10 Bafana Bafana appearances, will have his next chance to enter the SuperSport United record books when Matsatsantsa play their next DStv Premiership match against TS Galaxy on Saturday, 9 January at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Kick-off is at 17:00.
