Talks of Gaston Sirino’s move to Al Ahly just won’t go away

Egyptian giants Al Ahly are reportedly still in talks with DStv Premiership club Mamelodi Sundowns over the signing of striker Gaston Sirino.

SIRINO HAS BEEN LINKED WITH A MOVE SINCE LAST SEASON

The 29-year-old Uruguayan has been linked with move to Pitso Mosimane’s new club since last season, but nothing has materialised to date.

Gaston Sirino has yet to feature for the reigning PSL champions this season and could well be packing his bags during the upcoming January transfer window.

That window will run from January 18 to February 15, 2021.

AL AHLY ARE IN TALKS WITH MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Head of transfers at Al Ahly, Amir Tawfik, confirmed to the FARPost website that: “Sirino has always been a target of Al Ahly. There has been contact before, and it anything happens, the club will officially announce it.

“We are talking with Sundowns officials and if any serious development occurs, we will begin negotiations with the player then.”

Sundowns are currently atop the DStv Premiership standings as the league enjoys a festive period break until January 2.

The Brazilians have 18 points after eight matches and have been in terrific form this season.

They are next in action on Saturday, January 2 when they host Orlando Pirates in a mouth-watering clash at Loftus Versfeld.

Kick-off is at 15:30.

Al Ahly meanwhile are also top of the Egyptian Premier League after just two matches this season.
