Free State Police Captain murdered, as SAPS report ‘gruesome’ discovery

SAPS launched an urgent investigation on Wednesday – after one of their own was killed and ditched in Botshabelo. The shocking discovery of a Police Captain’s body in the Free State town has put authorities on high alert, as they desperately scramble to find out who is responsible for this act of brutality.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning, and the Botshabelo Detective Unit is calling on witnesses – or members of the public with any information at all – to come forward and share what they know with the police.

The injuries inflicted upon the Police Captain were particularly gruesome. The officer was stabbed in his stomach, and he also had his throat cut. The unpleasant discovery has sparked a rapid reaction in Free State, as preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was dumped after being killed elsewhere.

“Police were summoned to the scene and found the dead body of an African male. He had a stab wound on his stomach and his throat was slit. Police further suspect that the deceased was dumped there after being killed at another place.”
