Ice Prince excited for US label signing and new single release with Tekno

Award-winning rapper Ice Prince’s single Make Up Your Mind is just what Africa needs for the springtime.

The rapper and hip-hop star – whose real name is Panshak Zamani – featured singer, songwriter and producer Tekno on the single.

Tekno also featured on Beyonce’s album The Lion King: The Gift on the track Don’t Jealous Me.

Produced by Stunna the two artists came together to create an authentic African piece that will appeal to a global audience.

Ice Prince chemistry

Ice Prince and Tekno

Ice Prince says he and Tekno have amazing chemistry so collaborating was inevitable.

“Over the years, myself and Tekno have collaborated on a few records and it’s always amazing chemistry when we are in the studio together,” he says.

“I am a big fan of Tekno’s artistry, and he also shows me the same love so it’s always a good vibe when we link up.

“Magic always happens when we do and we just felt it’s about that time again.”

The rapper also released the music video for the single directed by TG Omori. The director and cinematographer has directed music videos for Burna Boy, D’banj, Fireboy and Wizkid.

The music video itself is avant garde, colourful and bright.

“We just wanted to have fun with the video but at the same time show off some African beauty and style,” Ice Prince says.

“A lot of credit goes to the director TG Omori and the stylist Sneaker Boy. We literally just put our heads together and the mood board came to life.”

Based in New York, the record label is home to several chart-topping hip-hop artists such as Megan thee Stallion, Gunna and Young Thug.

Ice Prince is an artist who enjoys collaborating with other artists and plans to work with other artists signed to the label.

“Collaborations unite people and cultures, I intend to continue spreading my culture by collaborating with some of my label mates and even more.”

New fire for Ice Prince

As Africa’s first musician to sign with 300 Entertainment, Ice Prince feels as if his dreams are coming true. He is ready to take his music from Africa to the world.

He says that African music has a long way to go but it is certainly headed in the right direction.

The rapper says we can expect “a brand-new Ice with brand new fire” in the coming months. He commits to playing his part in blowing up sounds from the African continent.
