Homemade BBQ Chicken Nachos – The all-time crowd pleaser!

What’s the one snack you expect to see at any party, especially when there is an exciting sport on TV? You guessed it, nachos! By combining our delicious BBQ chicken and BBQ sauce recipes, you’ll be serving up the best Homemade BBQ chicken nachos on earth.

This delicious BBQ chicken recipe is so quick and versatile, it makes a wonderful topping for nachos, pizza or even served over pasta. However, we are here to load it onto a bed of nachos.  The homemade BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy and is ready in just a few minutes. You only need a few ingredients to make this sauce which works perfectly every time. The cooking time might be short, but the eating time will be even shorter, because it’s just that good.

Serve your Homemade BBQ chicken nachos with a side of sour cream and guacamole for the full experience.

You can make an extra batch and store it in the fridge for up to a week, or until your friends find it there.

    Ingredients – BBQ SAUCE

    • 2 cups tomato sauce

    • ¼ cup brown sugar

    • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

    • 1 tbsp honey

    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    • 1 tbsp lemon juice

    • 1 tbsp garlic powder

    • 1 tsp cumin

    • 1 tsp black pepper

    • salt to taste

    • INGREDIENTS – CHICKEN NACHOS
    • 4 chicken fillets

    • 1 packet nacho chips

    • ½ cup cheese

    • sour cream (optional)

    Method – BBQ sauce

    • Add all the ingredients into a large saucepan and whisk together.
    • Heat over medium heat until the sauce begins to simmer. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
    • While the sauce is simmering you can prepare your nachos.
    • METHOD – BBQ CHICKEN NACHOS
    • Preheat oven to 180 °C.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan. Cook the chicken fillets for 4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
    • Remove the chicken from frying pan. Using 2 forks, shred the chicken into strips.
    • Add the BBQ sauce to the chicken and mix well.
    • Layer nachos in a baking dish and top with BBQ chicken and cheese.
    • Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

    Notes

    • Serve with sour cream and quacamole (optional)
