Benoni pensioner (103) conquers COVID-19
Spirited Benonian Faith Launder has overcome Covid-19 at 103 years old.
Heather Sawyer, of the Old Peoples Home where Faith resides, said the centenarian tested positive for Covid-19 on July 15 after showing symptoms.
Faith was placed into quarantine for 10 days where she was given antibiotics with the Home’s resident doctor keeping a close eye.
“I only survived the virus because I never knew I had it.”
It’s remarkable that someone her age survived the pandemic which has ravaged old aged homes throughout the world.
When asked how she felt about being the oldest survivor at the home, Faith told the Benoni City Times she doesn’t feel any different and gave all the praise to the Lord for being good to her.
Alister Launder, Faith’s son, said after he found out his mother tested positive for the coronavirus, he did not worry much because he believed that “things will go the way they should.”
