Proteas culture camp hit by two COVID-19 positive tests
Cricket South Africa has confirmed that two Proteas players have returned positive COVID-19 results after tests conducted before the Culture Camp assembled in Skukuza.
The two positive results came after 50 Proteas players and staff members were tested for COVID-19 prior to attending the ongoing Proteas culture camp in Skukuza which began on 18 August.
CSA confirmed that the Proteas duo who tested positive for COVID-19 were both asymptomatic and have began their mandatory isolation period. The duo will not be replaced however Faf du Plessis has been granted paternity leave from the camp and has been replaced by Theunis de Bruyn.

Cricket South Africa confirmed via an official statement that two unnamed Proteas players have tested positive for COVID-19 after tests conducted before the ongoing Culture Camp in Skukuza.
“Two players have returned positive Tests. They will unfortunately miss the camp as they have begun the isolation protocol. While both players are asymptomatic‚ CSA’s medical team will continue to regularly follow up with them to ensure their health and well-being‚” a CSA statement read.
Proteas head to the Kruger to redress squad culture inequalities
The Cultural Camp has been set up by CSA with the hope of providing the current crop of Proteas players with a platform to engage on team elements that require desperate attention. The entire South African cricketing system has come under fire for being systemically racist and CSA has now taken the first step in the birth of a refreshed national cricket team.

The Proteas Culture Camp in Mpumalanga is set to conclude on Saturday 22 August after four days of engagement and planning regarding the future identity of South African cricket.
