Classic Cheesy Steak Sandwich a twist on the Philly steak roll

Meaty, cheesy and full of flavour, introducing the cheesy steak sandwich. This is my version of the very popular Philly cheese steaks, and from what I’ve heard much better than those from Philadelphia.

This perfect grub is suitable for any day and it always tastes as delectable as the time you made it before. Also, if you like to have that little extra zing, make sure to add some freshly cut chillis to spice up your steak sandwich!

This is a classic that is one of my must-have comfort foods when the mood strikes. If you don’t know how to make a steak sandwich, here’s how.

    Ingredients

    • 600 gr cooked and seasoned rump steak, cubed

    • 15 ml butter

    • 2 sliced onions

    • 1 crushed garlic clove

    • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese

    • salt and peper

    • 6 bread rolls of your choice

    • Garnish:
    • fresh parsley

    • fresh chilis

    Method

    • In a saucepan, heat the butter.
    • Fry the onions and garlic.
    • Add the cooked rump steak cubes.
    • Saute and mix well, until all the steak is warmed up.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
    • Add the cheese.
    • Remove from the heat and stir the cheese until melted.
    • Serve on a grilled roll, garnish with parsley and chilis.
