South African band GoodLuck lifts spirits with new track

Electronic trio GoodLuck have heeded the call and teamed up with Dutch Stap Voor Stap hitmaker Kav Verhouzer, to bring a hit to cheer us up during these difficult times.

GoodLuck are once again showing the power of collaboration between Netherlands and South African-based artists. Their first single was the break-out hit Be Yourself (Armada Records 2018), which had incredible success on local and international radio.

Rum & Cola is, just as the name suggests, a song about keeping it light and enjoying the simple things in life. The deep house beat is uplifting and progressive with subtle touches of that old-school Chicago House piano sound that we all grew up loving. So, marry that sound with a sultry pop vocal and catchy lyrics, and you have a local, and global hit knocking at the door.

Premiering on Chill Your Mind with support from the biggest DSPs on Spotify & Apple Music, there are big expectations for this song.

“I think we noticed that there was something special about this tune when we were performing it live on our Summer tours in South Africa,” said GoodLuck lead vocalist Jules Harding. “We noticed the crowd would be singing along by the second chorus which is very unusual when you are performing a song live for the first time!”

The single art was created by one of South Africa’s most famous graphic illustration artists Merwe Marchand LeRoux and is a strikingly bright and fun artwork, echoing the same energy that you feel when you listen to the track.

“We just want to help everyone feel a little bit better,” said Kav Verhouzer. “It’s tough out there at the moment, and we are hoping to bring a bit of light and happiness to people through this single.”
