Music to your ears: Non-mainstream artists worth listening to
The lockdown period has certainly been a time of exploration for some vibrant and unique artists to listen to. We’ve taken the time to explore some non-mainstream South African artists and found a a few voices everyone should be listening to.
Moonga K
Moonga K is a Johannesburg-based R&B artist who recently released his seven-track EP, An Ode to Growth. Pt 1 on which he explores themes of love, friendship, and personal progress.
Moonga K dabbed in some other genres in his previous projects and believe me, one will never get tired of his wide-ranging voice.

Mpho Sebina
Botswana-based songstress Mpho Sebina yet to have a track considered a “miss”. Her debut project, titled Neo, was released in 2017 and serves as a solid six-track look of Sebina’s range.
This songstress is proudly African, which is displayed on her 2020 released singles, Melodi and Pula. Soon enough we’ll hear Mpho Sebina’s name in conversations alongside Zamajobe and Simphiwe Dana.
