Sibusiso Radebe: Multi-award-winning actor dies at the age of 37
Multi-award-winning actor, professional dancer and vocal artist, Sibusiso Radebe, has passed away, according to his close friends and family.

According to a Facebook post, published by a close friend of the actor, Claudia Maluleke, Sibusiso Radebe had been battling with cancer for about a year.
The news of the actor’s death shocked many and has since reverberated throughout social media, something his family had not been aware of.
A person by the name of Phila Vilakazi, who claims to be a relative of Sibusiso Radebe, replied to Maluleke’s Facebook post, stating that the family had not granted her, or anyone, permission to break the news on social media.
“Please refrain from doing this. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time we will officially make a statement a little later,” Vilakazi wrote.
Radebe will be remembered for his on-screen talents
Sibusiso Radebe was only 37 years old but he was a seasoned actor in South Africa’s film industry. The country first caught sight of his acting talents on a teen magazine show, X–Attitude, in which he featured in at the age of 12.
This was four years before he would catch his big break on Backstage, a soap opera that aired on E-tv between. His character, Vusi, gained favour amongst the LGBTQI community, granting him status on the show as one of the main cast members. He left the show five years later, in 2005 and has since featured on:
- Mzansi;
- Stokvel;
- Home Affairs;
- Mtunzini.com; and
- City Ses’la
Details of his burial have yet to be confirmed by his family, who have indicated that they will only release an official statement later.

Known for playing Vusi on the etv soapie, Radebe was also a YOTV presenter — having started his tv career as a presenter on X-Attitude.
